Porches in bad repair can be dangerous and unattractive. Porch floor and railings are exposed to the weather. Porch floors will usually rot faster than decks because the floorboards are closer together. You will be able to tell when your porch starts needing some repair. You will be able to see it, and sometimes feel it as you walk across the floor. Inspect it regularly, and when the wood starts to deteriorate, take care of the problem before it gets worse.
